Engage Clients with

Innovative Skills Teaching

Are you a therapist seeking fresh, innovative ways to teach your clients essential coping skills? If you've felt the weight of traditional methods and handouts falling flat, you're not alone. Many therapists share your struggle to engage neurodivergent clients in meaningful ways. The good news is we're about to change that. Welcome to the Plant-Based DBT Skills Workshop, a transformative experience designed specifically for therapists like you. This workshop will empower you to blend therapeutic horticulture with solid DBT principles, creating a more embodied and impactful therapeutic environment.

Expand Your Skills

Instructor Toolbox

As a dedicated therapist, you likely find yourself grappling with how to convey the essence of mindfulness and emotion regulation to your clients. You’ve tried countless techniques—worksheets, videos, random metaphors—but these often miss the mark. Perhaps you feel overwhelmed by the responsibility of clients’ use of skills to address self-harm or suicidal thoughts outside of session, leaving you uncertain about how to guide them towards healthier coping skills. You want methods that resonate deeply, allowing your clients to not just understand, but embody the DBT skills you teach. This can lead to persistent frustration and a sense of inadequacy in your sessions. You know there is a better way, yet the traditional tools seem insufficient for your clients, especially those who are neurodivergent.

The Challenge

to Engage

I've been in those shoes, feeling the challenges of engaging clients who struggle to connect with conventional teaching methods. Then, I discovered the profound impact of combining therapy with the natural world—how plants could serve as a bridge to understanding emotions and enhancing mindfulness. I developed a training program that marries therapeutic horticulture with DBT skills, while maintaining treatment fidelity. Therapists who have taken this journey with me have reported breakthroughs, witnessing firsthand how interaction with plants fosters emotional identification and regulation. Together, we can harness this innovative approach to ensure you leave with not just theoretical knowledge, but actionable tools that you can start using right away.

Imagine This

Scenario

You walk into your next therapy session equipped with a new set of plant-based strategies. Picture your client, once understandably anxious about engaging with mindfulness, now exploring the textures and scents of plants, learning to regulate their emotions through sensory experiences.

Envision clients actively participating in their therapeutic growth, using the skills you've taught them through engaging, hands-on activities.

After this workshop, you'll be not only a therapist; you'll be a guide, leading your clients to a deeper understanding of themselves. Their progress will remind you of why you chose this path in the first place, reinforcing your confidence as a professional.

Together, we will create a thriving community that values innovative practices and prioritizes holistic well-being.

The Plant-Based DBT Skills Workshop offers 3 continuing education contact hours with an immersive experience that equips therapists with practical, hands-on techniques for teaching emotion regulation.

This is not just another training; it is a comprehensive immersion into the world of therapeutic horticulture, integrated seamlessly with DBT principles. You will gain immediate access to intervention lists, research tools, and collaborative discussions with fellow therapists.

By the end of this workshop, you will have a toolkit tailored for your clients, enabling you to foster emotional awareness, regulation, and a renewed sense of purpose in your practice.
