INDIVIDUAL

THERAPY

SESSIONS

Develop personal insights.

At DBT Ozarks, we provide individualized therapy for people navigating strong emotions, relationship challenges, and life transitions. Through one-on-one sessions, we focus on developing practical tools, deeper insight, and greater self-compassion in order to help you move forward with balance, purpose, and gentle strength.

When is individual DBT Therapy most helpful?

Individual DBT therapy can be especially supportive when life feels overwhelming or out of balance. You might find this work helpful if you:

  • Feel emotions that come on intensely or are hard to manage

  • Notice repeating patterns in relationships or self-talk that leave you feeling stuck

  • Struggle with anxiety, impulsivity, or sudden mood shifts

  • Crave a safe space for deeper self-understanding, healing, and personal growth

  • Feel ready to look at your patterns with curiosity, exploring both acceptance of where you are and the possibility of meaningful change

Hey there,

I'm Kristen.

I've been a DBT therapist since 2019 and I have been in the field of Social Work for over 20 years. I am the founder of DBT Ozarks and provide individual DBT therapy. I specialize in working with people who experience big emotions. Borderline Personality Disorder is my specialty and I work with many people who experience Emotion Dysregulation related to ADHD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, and PTSD.

When DBT is the right fit, I am committed to providing it as it was originally designed. This means following a structured, evidence-based approach rather than blending in multiple therapies—so you can learn and practice skills in a way that is consistent, effective, and proven to work.

I am also trained to use therapeutic horticulture techniques as a way to deliver and reinforce these skills in a more hands-on, experiential way. Getting your hands in the soil is always optional—the focus is on helping you build skills that work in your everyday life.

When I’m not in session or running therapy groups, I am an expert guest speaker and provide consultation and clinical training to therapists and medical professionals, and have contributed to legislative advocacy efforts through the Missouri House of Representatives supporting access to DBT while maintaining the integrity of the full treatment model.
