Therapeutic Horticulture + DBT
Discover simple, meaningful ways to use plants as tools for mindfulness, grounding, and emotional regulation in clinical practice. This class introduces therapists to Therapeutic Horticulture interventions that help clients slow down, connect with the present moment, and practice coping skills through hands-on, nature-inspired experiences. No plant or DBT experience necessary.
What You’ll Learn
This training includes 120 minutes of structured instructional content covering:
- Foundations of Horticultural Therapy:Â Clinical scope, mechanisms of sensory engagement, and theoretical foundations, including Attention Restoration, Stress Reduction, and Biophilia.

Applied Plant-Based Mindfulness: Somatic engagement, adapting plant-based tools for anxiety, trauma, ADHD, emotional dysregulation, and structuring 5–15 minute interventions within sessions.

Ethical Integration: Addressing scope-of-practice boundaries, safety considerations, documentation standards, and integration of plant-based mindfulness with CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused treatments while preserving fidelity to core treatment components.
