About DBT Ozarks

Hi, I'm Kristen Shuler. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I specialize in working with adults who experience emotions very intensely, to the point that it interrupts daily life and takes a toll on relationships. I am a State Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) clinician, specializing in incorporating DBT with Therapeutic Horticulture techniques.

I expanded my solo practice and created DBT of the Ozarks in July, 2022. A strong believer of DBT as a treatment for a wide range of diagnosis related to emotion dysregulation, I worked to identify the long-standing gaps of DBT care in the Ozarks region. I partnered with the DBT Coordinator at the MO Department of Mental Health for guidance on fidelity; created a community needs assessment to collect data, and built a consultation team of 6 providers who eagerly signed up for trainings, began co-facilitating groups, and now provide DBT Comprehensive services.

Our DBT team values the power of life-long learning; acceptance of ourselves & our clients; and the potential for change.

Our goal is to help you stop the misery by teaching you to survive and to calm the emotional storms, regulate your mood, improve your relationships, and become more mindful through the magic of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. #dbtmagic

We are currently able to provide services in Missouri, Kansas, and will soon expand to Arkansas. Services are offered in-person as well as virtually.
